LEGEND
ABOUT MALPILS
Craftsmen wanted to build a church in
Malpils. However, the builders could not complete their task, because whatever
they put up during day was torn down again that night.
The advice was followed. To break the negative magic spell, the baron decide
to sacrifice a young woman, by walling
her up in the building. Not far in the local farm workers found the beautiful,
young girl called Mara. Later the village Malpils got its name from the
young girl`s name Mara.
At night she
was walled in the stone wall of the church. Since that time the church walls
have never fallen down.
